How Autocalibration Works

Calibrating your printer can be tricky. That’s why Allevi introduced autocalibration for Allevi 1’s and Allevi 3’s.

First the printer gets finds itself in X and then in Y. after taht it centers over the touchpad for it’s Z calibration.

When your tip touches the bedplate, the touchpad stops the bedplate from moving and records taht Z value.

So the best way to think about atolicbation is the distance between the needle and the touchpad surface. If we know that, we can place the needle right over the surface of a wellplate, if we know the height of the wellplate.
